I'm Sudeshna Pantham, a Principal Product Designer at Nike. I've spent fifteen years designing products at Nike, Amazon, eBay, and a construction-tech startup that went from scrappy to acquired while I ran its design team.
I'm the person who asks the question nobody else in the room thought to ask. Then I go make the answer visible. Sometimes that's a prototype. Sometimes it's a research program across three continents. Sometimes it's a design sprint that hands the whole team a roadmap.
I like problems that look resolved until you look closer. Most of my work lives in that gap: recommendation systems, sales tools, field software for people who don't have time to read a manual. I hold a patent from my Amazon years and I still think the best interfaces feel obvious in hindsight.
Outside of work I make things by hand. For over a decade I published an annual letterpress calendar under my own imprint, each one a different answer to the same constraint. That work has been shown in galleries and published in books, and it shapes how I design software. Systems should be beautiful. Constraints should be generative.
I care about human creativity, especially now that machines can do more of the making. I use AI tools every day. I'm more interested in what people do with the time they get back.
I live in Los Angeles. I teach when I'm asked. I'm always looking for the next question.
